Baptism is the first sacrament of Christian initiation, welcoming us into the Church and cleansing us from original sin. Through this sacred rite, we become children of God and members of the body of Christ. At Our Lady of Guadalupe, we are honored to walk with families in this beautiful journey of faith.
 

Baptism Schedule

Baptisms are celebrated on:

• Second Saturdays of the Month -  10:00 am. 

• Second Sundays of the Month -  1:00 pm. 

• Private baptisms may be scheduled upon request.
   

Requirements for Baptism

For Infants and Children Under 7 Years Old:

• At least one parent must be a practicing Catholic.

• At least one godparent must be a confirmed Catholic in good standing with the Church.

• Parents and godparents must attend a baptism preparation class before the ceremony.

For Adults Seeking Baptism (RCIA / OICA Program):

• Adults who wish to be baptized must complete the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) before receiving the sacrament.
   

Godparent Requirements

Godparents play a vital role in the spiritual life of the baptized. They must:

• Be at least 16 years old and a practicing Catholic.

• Have received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.

• If married, they must be married in the Catholic Church.

• Commit to supporting the child's faith journey.
   

How to Register for Baptism

• To schedule a baptism, please visit the parish office in person to submit your request and schedule a date.

• Baptism registrations are handled in person at the parish office during office hours. Please contact our Office Manager to schedule an appointment.
