The Sacrament of the Eucharist
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. Through Holy Communion, we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, strengthening our faith and uniting us more deeply with Him and with His Church.
First Holy Communion
Requirements for First Communion
Children and adults preparing for First Holy Communion must complete a period of instruction to ensure they understand the significance of the sacrament and are spiritually prepared.
For Children:

Must be at least 8 years old (age of reason).

Must be baptized in the Catholic Church (a baptism certificate is required).

Must attend Catechesis Classes for a full preparation program.

Must receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) before First Communion.

Parents are encouraged to participate in the faith formation process.
For Adults:

Adults who have not yet received First Communion must complete the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA / OICA) program.

Communion for the Sick and Homebound
The Church brings the Eucharist to the sick, elderly, and homebound who cannot attend Mass. This allows them to remain spiritually connected to the parish and continue receiving the grace of Christ.
Who can receive Holy Communion at home?

Those who are seriously ill or recovering from surgery.

Elderly parishioners who are unable to leave their homes.
-
People with disabilities preventing them from attending Mass.
Communion for the sick is available by appointment only.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are laypeople commissioned to assist in distributing the Eucharist during Mass and bringing Communion to the sick and homebound.
Who are Extraordinary Ministers of Communion?

Practicing Catholics trained and approved by the parish.

Individuals with a deep respect for the Eucharist and a commitment to serving others.

Commissioned for service by the bishop or parish pastor.
These ministers assist the clergy when needed and play a vital role in ensuring that all parishioners, including the sick and homebound, have access to the Eucharist.
